Support The The ShockerStrengths Initiative

Established in 2019, the ShockerStrengths Initiative is a campus-wide effort designed to connect every shocker with their top Strengths! Utilizing Gallup’s CliftonStrengths inventory, students, faculty and staff gain access to this tool and a number of success geared resources including workshop opportunities and individual or team coaching.

This initiative provides an opportunity for Shockers to engage with their results to help leverage their natural talents and strengths to academic, personal, and professional success.

Celebrating it's 5th year, the Initiative has made a positive impact on the student and employee experience contributing to their sense of belonging and student success. In a recent impact report, 84% of shockers stated they found value in know their strengths! One student shared "Since knowing my strengths, I have been able to identify them clearly when I use them. I also have be able to take them to the next step and apply them to my goals".

Shockers are learning to identify and aim their strengths toward their goals! We continue to see a steady increase in Shockers seeking to engage with their strengths. Donations and sponsorships towards this Initiative will go to expanding access to the inventory to our incoming transfer students, returning adult learners, returning and international students and potentially a ShockerStrengths scholarship.

Furthermore, as more and more students engage with the Initiative, we are hopeful to cover the costs of additional training, development, and materials for success coaches, advisors, and other university personnel engaging in Strength-Based conversations.

On September 17th, the entire Shocker community will come together and support the colleges, departments, programs, student organizations and teams they love.
